Studio Tour Contest Prompt
(Read to the End)
Total Run Time: 60-90 seconds.
Objective: Create a video giving a tour of your studio / classroom that other video students and video teachers around the country would find interesting and entertaining.
Your video MUST include the following, in this order:
What is the name of your program? Where are you located?
Give us a behind the scenes tour of your studio / classroom. Include any cleaver ways to manage projects or organize equipment.
What’s the most unique thing about your studio / classroom.
Sign off creatively.
RULES
The teacher / instructor must appear in the video and must have exactly 1 line.
Must shoot and deliver horizontally, not vertically.
No stock footage, stock photography, or stock graphics packages.
No use of AI generated images, video, or graphics.
You may use music and sound effects if you have the rights to the track(s).
You may take this any direction you like: serious, funny, dramatic, professional, satirical, whatever.
If you or your students can’t be shown on screen, you may use voice over or get creative with other ways to hide their identity. You will not be at a disadvantage.
This contest is about writing, shooting, and editing. The entries will be judged on the following criteria:
Effectiveness
Effort & Execution
Creativity
Entertainment Value
Technical (Focus, white balance, exposure, composition, sound)
The following will not be considered by the judges:
How “impressive” or high tech your classroom / studio is.
Whether or not you shoot in standard definition, HD, 4K.
The type of camera you use to make the video.
This contest is about CONTENT and TECHNIQUE, not GEAR. :D

You will need to submit release forms for every person who works on and/or appears in the video.
Students over 18 at time of filming can sign their own release forms. Students under 18 at the time of filming must submit a release form signed by a parent/guardian.

Plan to create .mp4 or .mov files encoded as high quality H.264.

There will be first, second, and third place prizes.
First place: $500 B&H Gift Card

The gift card will be delivered to the teacher’s email address and is intended to be used for the school’s video program.

The studio tours may be displayed on the ASB website.

Entries will be submitted via online portal. Teachers will receive detailed instructions via email when they register.
Each entry will submit all required release forms to that same portal.

No. Elementary schools and elementary school students are not eligible. Students must be in grades 6-12 to be eligible.
